Part-time Sales Representative (commissioned-based)

The Society for Biological Engineering, a division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers is
currently seeking a work-at-home Sales Representative.

This is a commission-based position 20% of net sales, with additional incentives for reaching mutually-agreed to benchmarks.

The successful incumbent will focus on identifying, qualifying, and capturing new sales opportunities for the Society for Biological Engineering (SBE) website, newsletter, meeting exhibits and sponsorships (current conferences focus on accelerating biopharmaceutical development, stem cell engineering, biomolecular engineering, and bioengineering and nanotechnology), and sponsorships for other SBE activities (publishing, research projects, etc.). SBE promotes the integration of biology with engineering, realizing its benefits through bioprocessing, biomedical, and biomolecular applications.

Responsibilities:

Prospect and profile qualified potential customers and understand their fit with SBE.
Generate & manage leads and track opportunities through the sales process.
Identify and close new sales or incremental opportunities with existing customers as appropriate.
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and reference ability.
Negotiate & renew existing contracts.
Build relationships with customers.
Work with SBE staff to leverage contacts.


Requirements:

Minimum of 3+ years proven sales experience as an outside sales representative in the biospace; bachelors degree is required.
Must have previous cold calling experience and strong closing skills.
Ability to research and generate potential sales leads.
Proven track record in selling high-end solutions and products to key decision makers.
Aggressive, goal oriented individual who can work
independently and must possess superior people skills.
Strong computer skills.
